Support for Baby of Rizwana Khan – Born at 24 Weeks, Fighting for Life
On 08 November 2024, Baby of Rizwana Khan was delivered at Horizon Prime Hospital, Thane with Extreme Prematurity (24 weeks) and an extremely low birth weight of just 600 grams. The newborn suffered birth asphyxia and severe respiratory distress at birth.
The baby did not cry at delivery and had to be immediately intubated and placed on mechanical ventilator support. The infant is currently admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and remains dependent on ventilatory support under round-the-clock medical supervision.
Doctors have advised that the baby will require at least 100 days of NICU care for medical stabilization, weaning off the ventilator, gradual introduction of feeds, thermal regulation, and essential nutritional support.
Estimated Medical Cost
The total cost for prolonged NICU treatment, respiratory support, and nutritional care is approximately:
₹12,00,000/- (Twelve Lakh Rupees)
The family comes from very limited financial means and is unable to manage this substantial medical expense. Without timely financial help, it will be extremely difficult to continue the life-saving treatment that the baby urgently requires.
